It’s been awhile since I’ve posted an update on my writing. I’ve opted into posting short writings and that preview of Wynx instead of posting updates on either my work or my website. Simple reason: I like a little variety.
That being said, I wanted to touch base on a few things. First off, I am done writing short stories and poetry for now. I find those works enjoyable and satisfying, but the satisfaction dims compared to the satisfaction of knowing I have completed yet another chapter of Wynx, or another brief passage in Fire in the Storm, one of my other upcoming projects.
To tell the truth, I probably won’t be doing anymore short stories or poems for quite some time. I know all of my fans have been clamoring for more, but I feel I owe it to them and myself to get a few books out so the satisfaction is there for all of us.
Wynx is, of course, the first book to come. In a way, and like a great many books, the book is like a series of short stories put together to make a whole story, although I’ve purposefully written the book so that each section can almost stand on its own. Almost.
The book has been delayed a couple of times now, and I honestly don’t have a date for when I’ll have it done. I can promise that it will be done very soon and I will follow it up with possibly Fire in the Storm or another project, depending on how the writing comes along on my other projects.
As for Tor being Wynx‘s publisher, it is, of course, my ultimate goal, although nothing is going to be official until Tor says it is. I would like to release the book with the company, as I’ve always been a big fan of the things they do, but that is, unfortunately, not a for sure thing yet. I am optimistic, however, and I don’t see why Wynx wouldn’t be a perfect fit.
For now, though, I leave you all with that promise … that I will get Wynx out A.S.A.P. and that I will do everything in my power to make sure the book is well worth the wait. Thank you, my devoted fans, and I am, as always, appreciative of your everlasting support.
